The Personal Life Of Langston Hughes
Langston Hughes did not have any wife or kids. Actually He was known to be Homosexual. Langston had a bad relationship with his father. He came to Mexico to live with his father in 1919 for a short period. After graduating in 1920 he went back to Mexico with his father hoping to get support from this it go to Columbia University. He hated the fact that his father hated blacks a lot. His own son was black; Langston seemed to have liked his own very much. His father had hoped for Hughes to go to a university abroad, and to study for a career in engineering. If he did that his father would have happy to pay for his college but not support his dream to be a writer. They finally came to a compromise. They decided that Hughes would Hughes would study engineering, as long as he could attend Columbia. He left his dad after for more than a year. At college he maintained a B+ grade. He left in 1922 because of racial prejudice, and his interests revolved more around the neighborhood of Harlem than his studies, though he continued writing poetry.
